Building a Future for Coral Reefs
Join Texas Science & Natural History Museum on Wednesday, November 12, for a free special program featuring author and ocean scientist Juli Berwald, who will speak on the vital—but often overlooked—world of jellyfish and coral reefs.
With a Ph.D. in Ocean Science from the University of Southern California, Berwald is the author of Spineless and Life on the Rocks—the latter a finalist for the L.A. Times Book Prize. Her writing has appeared in National Geographic, Texas Monthly, Smithsonian, Nature and Science. Berwald also serves as the Embajadora de los Arrecifes in Tela, Honduras, where she co-founded the nonprofit Tela Coral to protect one of the healthiest coral reefs in the Caribbean.
This free program at will be followed by a Q&A and a light reception.
If you have RSVP’d to an evening lecture and need an ASL interpreter, please email at least two weeks before the program so we can best accommodate your request.
